After a day of much paper shredding I came across this… My grandson wrote this at least two years ago. It was tucked away in a tablet of art paper. It touched my heart and I love that he just wrote what came to him..There was no hesitation…

I want to thank all of you that have replied to my posts with words of kindness and encouragement.. It means a lot to me and it helps to get feedback and opinions on packing and the hurdle we are facing. At this point we don’t know if we are turning left or right but regardless it will all come together….

Wednesday Weirdness

I was chilling on our couch and spotted this..

Maybe a little bizarre but there is a strange attraction to it..and maybe packing is getting to me…

I am kind of fascinated with the faucet…

We got some news today that put a damper on our day. We will continue to sit tight and wait to see what the outcome will be. Often in life we can be going one direction and then all of a sudden…surprise.. a door is closed that you thought was open. We were going with plan A and now it looks like we might have to go with plan B and we’d better figure plan B out quick.. Nothing serious! Besides we are in good hands..

Sentimental Journey

We have lived at the same location for nine years. Doors have opened for us to relocate and we should be moving by the end of this month. We are not going far but our years of collecting seems a bit ominous right now. I am afraid that my image of that soothing succulent did not help me get over the overwhelming task of packing…I am exaggerating just a little. I am one that keeps her letters and I have saved some paperwork that belonged to my children from elementary school. Do I continue this journey with sentimental artifacts from years gone by. Our home is not large so we couldn’t possibly have that much. At the present moment I feel like a hoarder… Cleaning up always entails making a mess and that is where I am at..No need for pictures as it just looks pretty bad and out of control. Boxes are stacking up and we are making some headway. Do we shuffle off to buffalo with our loads of memorabilia or leave some of it behind in the dumpster. My husband is telling me it’s ok..to be a hoarder and we can deal with it later..Lol! There may even be meetings that I can go to..to get well. Or maybe I will just take the first train out of here and not deal with it at all…

This afternoon I am getting some much needed rest after working a long day yesterday. I am sharing this image of a succulent because it appears to have a calming effect. Maybe it is just me because I need it. Each of us looks at life differently and our interpretation can differ as well. Earlier I was feeling unsettled as we are waiting on a few different things in our lives to transpire…. I am working on being patient and I really don’t want to lose my peace over it all. I hope your Sunday has been calm and uncomplicated…

Good morning! I am feeling on top of the world..Kind of feeling like Maria in the Sound of Music singing these are a few of my favorite things..You will find out at At A Creative Place to Be. Sue is a talented artist that I have come to know. She is going to create something special for me..I think a birdie told her that my birthday is coming up..Anyway I am terribly excited and I will be sending her ideas of some of my favorite foods, which can be found in most bakeries.. Lol! I will be sure to share a photo of my gift ..No pressure Sue! If you don’t know this about me yet..I appreciate getting to know all of you. Meet Lizzy…She’s a sweet cat…

She is a pensive cat…

She has taught me…about unconditional love..about breaking down barriers in ones heart. She is about love and comfort and just being her quiet little-self. Sometimes very afraid of strangers and noises. But as long as she has a comfy place on the bed or a blanket I know that she is secure…. We can learn a lot from animals. Thank you Lizzy for teaching me….

I hope you are having a peaceful and relaxing Sunday! It is cloudy out today but the sun keeps trying to peek through. The newspaper is saying that we will have snow tomorrow. I will believe it when I see it…Yesterday we stopped at a location near our City Hall where a few Iris’s have bloomed. They are covered with aphids, just as ours are in our yard. Anyway I was thrilled to see a few Ladybugs having lunch..

I had a good time with post-processing.. There will be more to come..

People at Work

This is my last submission for the contest at The Dark Globe. The other two themes were Hope and Broken. This is the third one, People at Work. I was torn between this and another one of a fisherman. I am choosing this because when I think of people at work I don’t always think of individuals that have the job of loading logs onto ships. This photo was taken in Charleston, Oregon last summer. I am linking with The Dark Globe. We had parked for just a few minutes to observe the operation. There were several logging trucks lined up waiting to unload. I try to keep in mind what people have to do to provide us with the necessities and comforts of life..

I am linking to The Dark Globe and this is my submission for Broken. It is hard to say how long this truck has been sitting here at this location. We stopped at an antique store at Kramer Junction not too far from where we live. I find old stuff intriguing as it holds mystery and history…I have learned something new today. In the future I will spread my submissions out and not all at once.. (:
