Things Are Looking Up…2

January 2, 2012

At  Things Are Looking Up I posted photos of  fire escapes.  I am fascinated by how they differ in appearance. Some are ornate and others are plain. When we  walked  around Los Angeles, not too long  ago and I got to observe quite a few.

Far away in the sunshine are my highest aspirations

I may not reach them

But I will look up and see their beauty

Believe in them

And try to follow where they lead

Louisa May Alcott..

I have been mulling over  my aspirations for this year. Just months ago we were struggling in a few different ways. One day after we had eaten our lunch we were given fortune cookies. We always read them..It’s fun! My husbands said there will be Winds of Change… Those little words encouraged both of us. Words are also fascinating. Sometimes I wonder about the origin of some. Many words in our vocabulary I can do without, but then there are some I  read or hear and they certainly make my day. So for this year I will be looking up more, learning new words and writing more. I have a few more personal aspirations that I will withhold from sharing at this time and just get busy on them..

Today you are you, that is truer than true

There is no one alive who is youer that you.. Dr. Seuss

I have heard there are troubles of more than one kind. Some come from  ahead and some come from behind

But I’ve bought a big bat, I’m ready to see

Now my troubles are going to have troubles with me~ Dr. Seuss

I love fire escapes and how they go up and up, reaching. Just like life, I think. 🙂 Wonderful post! And I hope the new year is a good one for you. 🙂

I have enjoyed looking up more over that last few years. I’ve been working on a word for this year. Something to stick in the back of my head. Great photos and I enjoyed reading your thoughts and quotes.

Christ tells us that words can speak life or death; so speak life…
    Good advice.
I love your photos. The first really catches your eye.
Walk softly and carry a big bat!
