We(the mouse in my pocket) and, I mean my husband and I were motivated one morning to get out of our comfort zone. At our age we tend to gravitate towards that which is comfortable  and that can lead to being lazy in our case and not getting enough physical exercise. We packed a couple of sandwiches and some tea and headed to Forest Falls which has become a favorite place for us to enjoy the outdoors. I wanted to go up a trail but  my hubby was not agreeable at first and then he changed his mind. So off we and sandwiches in hand.

It was a cool morning and to our advantage. I count my blessings as I am healthy except for my bmi which is considered unhealthy and yes, I need to work on that.

My heart began to start pounding as the trail began to get steep

Our bodies are amazingly equipped to accomplish and do incredible things

By the time we arrived at this spectacular sight I was totally out of breath. I welcomed the opportunity to stop and gaze and rest for a moment

From where we were there was not a safe way to get close to this. We would have had to come from another direction.

It certainly was worth the effort we made to get here. We actually were able to keeping going.

This morning I have been thinking about motivation. Why it wanes as it does and why sometimes when the light bulb turns on we don’t want to stop. I think the important thing is that we don’t stop trying and never get to the mindset that we can’t do or are not capable of achieving our goals or dreams in life.

You both did a nice walking… Reminded me my travel that was last August, in Devizes, UK. We did same walking to the nature with my husband… I can almost feel the same exciting when I read your post… Actually we should make this more… but you should be lucky for this, in here, not easy to find a nature place… we should go far from the city… and we, pardon my husband has not enough time for this. Your photographs almost took me into my memories… How I missed… Thank you dearest, it was so nice post, have a nice and enjoyable another motivational day(it wasn’t only for you, for us too), with my love, nia

What incredible photos! You are amazing, Roberta! I have California on my mind. My granddaughter, Nancy, lives in Long Beach, and a very precious grandson and his family will soon be moving from Wisconsin to San Diego. We will miss them terribly, as they are a part of our everyday lives.
The Amtrak goes by our home several times a week. Someday I may be on that train, heading west for a “sentimental journey”!

Good for you for getting out and about. I so understand that waxing and waning of motivation and energy. I’m amazed some days at what can get done. I really do tend more to the sit down and be lazy than get up and go!

Hi Ellen, I find it hard to be consistent.. We just keep working on it.. (:

Such a lovely trip/journey together. Often we must push each other to keep going and what a great thought that we can rely on each other whether it is couples or friends along the way…

What a FANTASTIC view! I do miss being able to take walks like this. I love it when I’m in the mountains and taking those hikes. It’s INCREDIBLE! I now live in a city that’s a very humid area with TONS of mosquito and it’s very difficult to take walks. There are some parks, but I need more nature! I just think its awesome that you have these amazing places to go to. Enjoy them and be healthy!
