Tangled

January 26, 2012

This sailboat caught my eye last summer in Astoria because  it’s color appealed to me. I don’t know anything about sailing but this looks like it is in need of repair (or not) and if I had to figure out what to do with all of the ropes, I most certainly would  make a mess..

Sailboat sits

waiting

for someone

to untie the knots

so that is can be

set free..

I grew up between the boats, the old boat is highly coveted, as the sail in the sea you can feel that you are part of the heart of the ship …
Thank you for sharing this beauty of the sea.

And I do believe you can see every rope in your photo! It’s amazing how they can seem to keep it all straight…Beautiful shot!!

Hi Brenda, thank you and nice to hear from you. I have not been able to leave a comment at your blog lately. I did stop by a couple of times and tried to respond. I’ll go back and try to figure it out.

That one is, at the moment, clearly not in “ship shape”. Glad I don’t have to straighten that out. Great capture!

I love its color too. Ropes are always a mystery to me – how to manage them.

    Great shot.

How interesting that the colours of the sail boat appealed to you – and then you took them away in the post-processing. You made the photo look almost like a drawing. Very nice. I like your thoughts around setting the sail boat free. Free all the world’s boats!
