Shades of Summer

August 14, 2012

We have had a mixture of wind, fire and rain in just four days. There was also a flash-flood in a creek not too far away. Smoke jumpers were dropped off or rather parachuted out of a plane on Saturday. Several fires were ignited from the lightning  but none were a threat. Yesterday was a cool seventy-three and today it jumped to eighty-five. The blue in the sky has been bright, the vegetation is a combination of green, yellow, rust and brown. It’s  all a palette of summer color.

The beauty of clouds

And some of these..

Will be cleaned up and put in a fruit salad tonight..

Mmm…berry good!

Do those berries ever look good! I will look for some huckleberries tomorrow, hopefully, but we don’t have wild blackberries here.

Fire is something I’m not a fan of-it is not the excitement I would want. The salad looks delicious, the berries and cooler temperatures are what I would like to see more of. Hope your week is great and life is not quite as hectic. Take care!
