Event Full

June 1, 2015

I think most of us have hopes and dreams tucked away in our hearts. For most of my years of being a grandmother, I have been a long distant one. If it wasn’t many miles there have been other circumstances. So, I have not been the doting grandma, able to hold and rock the baby in my arms or take them to the library as I used to observe other grandmother’s when I was working at a library. But with what opportunity I have had, I have made the most of it and held each experience dear to my heart. This weekend was eventful and I had 24 hours of full-time grandmothering and after the sweet girls left I found out that one of my daughter’s delivered her first child. I thank the Lord! Mr.GĀ  got discharged from the hospital on Saturday and has a brand new shoulder replacement and so lots of excitement. My cup is full and overflowing…

Congratulations on the new grandbabykins. Your post reminds me that I wasn’t alone in not getting to have the grandbabies a lot with the first ones. As you say, even though they didn’t always live far away, there were other reasons. The last 8 years though, I’ve immensely enjoyed being with my next to last grandbaby and even getting to babysit him once I retired. The last grandbaby moved miles away right after being born so I’ve only been around her a couple of times and she will be 3 soon. They’re so fun and looks like from your pictures that you had a great time. Wonderful pictures. šŸ™‚

So much good news in one post! Though I have no children (and hence no grandchildren) I still remember my time with my grandparents, and how special it was. My favorite time was my week in the summer, because we could do so many more exciting things — like learning to embroider, snapping beans, weeding the flower garden… šŸ™‚

And I’m glad the hospital is behind Mr. G. That’s always a good thing.

Thank you Linda! You have a lot of good memories. I didn’t get to know my grandparents very well, so missed out. Mr G will do well if he could just relax..lol!
