set them free
if they don’t make you feel better
they must flee
only occupiers of space
that control your mind
makes you think
that all is fine
let the light of truth come in
and that’s when true freedom will begin..

Last night, before I went to bed, I read about some concerns in our community, regarding those, that have been seen abusing their dog in public. It was disturbing! I hate to think that anyone is abused, man, woman, child, baby, animal. From what I read it seemed that very little can be done when seeing someone kick their dog. What can be done? I would like the truth to this, please…Thank you!
I believe that there are laws against cruelty to animals in all US states. I found this website that provides information by state: http://www.straypetadvocacy.org/PDF/AnimalCrueltyLaws.pdf

In many places it is against the law. Check with animal services or even the police.

Others have checked and seems like there is reluctance unless the animal is severely injured.. ):

Perhaps complaining will help.

You know what’s funny is that my sister who lives in another state called the station and shared her thoughts. Her best furry friend of almost 17 years passed away recently so she is very concerned about this matter. I believe that mental health, homelessness, unemployment and addictions contribute to this… ):

I can see that. When we experience loss, we often develop a greater empathy.

I have called the Humane Society to report dogs without water in the summer and would try this with abuse. Maybe the police would issue a ticket and hope no one figures out it was I who reported the incidents.
Hope you had a lovely relaxing Thanksgiving, Roberta.

As I read between the lines of incidents seen, there has to be a witness and it sounds as though law enforcement won’t act unless there is severe harm done… ): but I don’t think we should be silent and act like we don’t notice… Thanks Robin..
