Since the time that I took this photo, there have been very strong gusts of wind. More leaves have lost their grip, but many trees are still flashing their beauty. Other Autumn views can be seen at Festival of Leaves, week nine.

For week 8 of Festival of Leaves, I am using another photo from our visit to Champoeg State Park. It is such a beautiful place, and I like that it’s not too far, from where we live. I am enjoying every minute of this season.
We took some time to venture out, to the Champooeg state park area. As the morning progressed the smoke increased, coming from a fire in Washington. Rain is in the forecast, so it will be helpful. I am participating for week 5 for Festival of Leaves.
autumn rain
clears the air
revives the earth
from summer’s heat
hues of gold, yellow and brown
leaves that fall
and dance around
crispy apples, take a bite
sounds crunchy
like leaves under your feet..
bring out the sweaters
that wrap your arms
nice and cozy..
a cup of coffee or some tea
don’t forget about hot cider, and
of course a sweet spicy treat..
an autumn girl I am..

Sunday afternoon we ventured out of our home and drove to an area about six miles away. It was a beautiful day and it beckoned us to get out and go for a walk. I bagged up a few chocolate chip oatmeal cookies and off we went. Never know if you might need some energy food… Lol! We decided to park our car near a Christian camp called Loch Leven. Last year we had talked to a young woman that was preparing to hike along the snow covered trail at the same location. We were not sure what we would encounter but with my trusty camera I was ready for a little time of exploration.the buckwheat was vibrant
the lichen on the tree trunk caught my attention
the contrast of colors dazzled my eyes
stay tuned for more to come on fall foliage….
