It’s So Summer

It’s pretty quiet on the home-front. We’ve had sun, clouds and then a few raindrops.

DSC_0028It it supposed to heat up on Sunday. I heard that it was 116 in my hometown of Palm Springs. I am not sure if that is true or not. I will have to look it up.

DSCN8978-001I don’t know what these are, but they are sweet looking..

Summertime

He fills His hands with lightning and commands it to strike its mark..

God’s voice thunders in marvelous ways,

He does great things beyond our understanding.

                                                                                  Job 36:32, 37:5

His ways are not our ways. As I observe my little sphere of the world I am in awe of the beauty in our little back yard. I hope I don’t tire you out from my backyard tales. But each day I am eager to see what’s new, what flower has bloomed, what vegetable has taken off. I am thankful for these simple adventures in gardening.

Shades of Summer

We have had a mixture of wind, fire and rain in just four days. There was also a flash-flood in a creek not too far away. Smoke jumpers were dropped off or rather parachuted out of a plane on Saturday. Several fires were ignited from the lightning  but none were a threat. Yesterday was a cool seventy-three and today it jumped to eighty-five. The blue in the sky has been bright, the vegetation is a combination of green, yellow, rust and brown. It’s  all a palette of summer color.

The beauty of clouds

And some of these..

Will be cleaned up and put in a fruit salad tonight..

Mmm…berry good!
