The Weekly Photo Challenge is Rare. We spotted this rock months ago, on a rainy day. We followed a road, to a location that we hadn’t been to before. This may be considered more unusual, than rare. But for us, it was a rare sighting.
Looking secure behind a wire fence…keeping an eye on the human in the car..anymore my heart drops when I spot a dead animal on the road, especially deer. I want them to all be safe.

We got out yesterday to do some more exploring. Mr. G. is feeling a bit perkier after three shoulder surgeries and being somewhat confined in his activities. The challenge for this week is Beneath Your Feet, or however you choose to interpret. We discovered an area not far from where we live, called Cascadia, where the So. Santiam River flows. We hiked to the Soda Creek waterfall. The water level was low but it still made for good photo opportunities.
I am really beginning to miss Photo Art Friday at Pixel Dust Photo Art. Bonnie has taken time away and I am sure it was much-needed… as I explored the great outdoors yesterday I came across some Flax flowers. I was so excited to see them growing wild and free and not cooped up in someones yard..lol! Of course I needed to take pictures of the little beauties. I used one of Bonnie’s textures called afternoon walk.. I was pleased with the result.. You never know what you’ll see when you venture out for a walk.
