I discovered this book at one of the local discount stores. It’s one of those that kind of jumped out at me. Of course when I purchased it, I had Thanksgiving on my mind. You know, turkey and all of the trimmings. lol! Well not really.. I hadn’t started reading it, until this morning, when I realized, that if I wanted to coincide with the days until Thanksgiving, I had some catching up to do. The little reminders about gratitude are great and speak to me. I find that it is easy to get into a slump of mumble and grumble and not be able to recognize a blessing or gift of life when it’s right in our face. So today I am embarking on this challenge to be open minded and see what God has in store for me to learn.
Do you have a memory of a stranger, acquaintance, or someone else you didn’t know well having a positive impact on your life?
I met one person at a store, that my mother managed, when I was a teenager. Another I met while I was a volunteer teen at our local hospital. Two others I met on the job when I worked at a library, and one at church and one other at a Bible study.
I kept this note from Glenn H. He passed away years ago. Reading this reveals his heart. All of these short seasonal people in my life were gentle natured. I am grateful for these wise and kind people that God sent my way.
Several days ago, I reflected on certain people that came into my life for a short duration. As I look back they appeared in my eyes to have been mature individuals of good character, integrity and displayed kindness. I see them now as quiet and gentle messengers from God. At the time, I didn’t grasp the understanding of who these people were and why I was meant to meet them in my lifetime. Now, that I am older I have an appreciation for those that I was gifted to have met. As I searched for a quote today, I thought this was fitting for what I had been pondering on lately.
On day two of this three day challenge, I would like to nominate Rachel from rachelmankowitz: the cricket files to share a quote. Rachel has an ability to make me laugh with her wit and sense of humor. She has a love for furry friends and a desire to help humanity, in a field that takes very special people, to work in that capacity. I am extremely sensitive to those that live very busy and full lives. There is absolutely no pressure to do this. Rachel is gifted as a writer, and another writer that I can visualize her work in print. I have modified this challenge, but the following are the real rules for this..
The rules for the 3 Day Quote Challenge are
- To thank the person that nominated you
- Post a quote for three consecutive days. (one quote for each day)
- Nominate 3 bloggers every day
My kind of quiet…
The Daily Post weekly challenge is Silence
that graces our eyes
and gentle reminders
of God’s goodness
and that there is HOPE for all of mankind..
A temporary window display
The Season that speaks to my heart
Temporary is the Daily Post Challenge
clears the air
revives the earth
from summer’s heat
hues of gold, yellow and brown
leaves that fall
and dance around
crispy apples, take a bite
like leaves under your feet..
bring out the sweaters
that wrap your arms
nice and cozy..
a cup of coffee or some tea
don’t forget about hot cider, and
of course a sweet spicy treat..
an autumn girl I am..
