Weekly Photo Challenge: Fun

Fun, it is, for this challenge. I would say that my definition of fun, has changed over the years. To some it may be considered, boring. I have come to appreciate simplicity. As I ponder on fun this morning, what stands out, is the quality time spent with family, from California. It was nice to have youth in the house, and extremely special, getting to meet baby Corbin. He got to experience picking berries and peaches, but he didn’t get to taste his mama’s delicious peach/berry pie that she made. Maybe next year. All in all, we had a wonderful time and it was fun.

So Sweet of You

I want to say hello and thank you to new readers here at Words Like Honey. I appreciate that you take time to stop, visit and like what I share…I continue to strive for balance in my day, so I have tried to cut back a bit on my time spent at WordPress. I am not sure that it is! I so enjoy the community of artists, photographers and writers that I have come to know. We recently visited, what has become one of our favorite places to have lunch. I can actually say that on that day, I did not indulge on any of their delicious sweet treats. I will make up for it perhaps in October or November.. (:

Three Years Later

In 2011, the month of August we had traveled from California and were on our way to Washington. At the time we were on the Oregon coast and were keeping our eyes open for a campground. We pulled into a campground that looked kind of cramped, but because it was later in the afternoon we decided that we’d better not be too picky. We had been told to drive around and see what might appeal to us, and then check with the camp host to make sure it was available. We picked a site out and settled the paperwork and all and then headed back to our space. It seems that a van did not show up until after we had been there a little while. If you read this post, you will understand the connection. Fast forward to July 2014 and we had been in Oregon sevens months. We were at  Home Depot in Albany and saw this van. I squealed when I saw this van because it was the same one that belonged to the camper we met in 2011 on the Oregon coast. He, the owner was pulling out and away and we made a hasty exit out of our car to flag him down. We had, had no knowledge of where he resided, even though we talked to him quite a bit that evening. His van is no cookie cutter van and not one you will forget. It was neat to talk to him that day. Certain encounters are just meant to be and I call them divine appointments..
