Weekly Photo Challenge: Serenity

Serenity~ through their eyes. This is my interpretation of the serenity challenge for this week. I scanned numerous photos of mine that depicted what I considered right for the subject but these jumped out at me and spoke Serenity. Serenity is where we find it. Whether in the city, mountains, desert or beach and mainly within…

A Word that Speaks

We drove east from our home yesterday. Our destination was Sister’s, Oregon. It is all mountainous and we saw some very interesting sights. I have been mulling over in my mind the last few days which word or words might jump out at me.. and wa la.. It is potential. As human beings we all have room for growth, no matter the age. I don’t ever want to think that I have arrived or achieved or that there is not anything I don’t need to work on. Today I am thinking about, So as a man thinketh, so  is he. What we think about, what we dwell on really does make a difference. There is a lot of garbage out in the universe and it will have an impact on you, or me if that is what we keep our focus on..

Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable to you O Lord, my rock, my redeemer.

Bad Hair Days

DSCN3626-001We have been packing and filling up a container that was delivered on Monday. My attire is the same each day, nothing fancy, just layers for warmth. In this kind of weather my hair can get kind of wild-looking. The dampness sends a message to each strand and says it’s time to party. I will miss the expertise of the proprietor of this salon. He is an artist and knows how to tame my hair. For right now I am forgoing the thought of trying to look nice. I don’t, and that is the truth. Moving always entails making a huge mess. The mess is a bit toned down now. Just odds and ends and then to tackle the cleaning, so that it will shine for the new occupant. For today, I will keep a song in my heart and again muster up energy to continue, as we will soon be on our way..

Photo Art Friday: Open

It’s that special time of the month, for those of us that like to dabble in getting creative with our photos. I look forward to it. You’ll want to take a look at Bonnie Zieman’s photo art for this meme at Pixel Dust Photo Art. The optional theme for today is OPEN/OPENING/OPENED. I love this time of year, when generosity increases in the hearts of mankind. It’s a time to set aside our own needs and look at ways to give to the less fortunate and brighten someone’s day.. Our neighbor’s home makes a charming Christmas image…

The Road Less Traveled

We made our first run to Big Bear, yesterday to our favorite nursery, Hunter’s… Being that it is about forty miles away, we don’t go very often.

Now to decide what we want to take home with us..

This looks like a nice assortment…

Rocky Raccoon

I have been shoveling snow throughout the day. I am hungry and ready for carbs.. Just about an hour ago I noticed a car slowing down and turned to see what they were looking at. It certainly was not the lady shoveling away and looking rather weak…Lol! They were looking at Rocky and family. I made a mad dash to get my camera out of the house and so they are a little blurry do to my shaky hand. Anyway, they appeared to be out to play in the white powdery snow. It was a very nice reward for my hard work..
