After hearing a very good word on overcoming yesterday, it was clear to me, that I was stuck in an attitude that was only fueling thoughts of defeat. In a web of sorts in my mind. It was making me mentally tired. There is so very much negativity floating around, that we are bombarded with each day. If we, (I) am not careful, it will consume us (me) in a subtle way. Proverbs 4:23 says, Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it. NIV So today I encourage myself to be heart healthy..stop listening to the old worn out record. All it has done is created a deeper groove and playing the same old song of defeat and bondage. What I take in each day affects my thought life. I choose life, that I may have it more abundantly…
thinking
Forlorn
has been turned
upside down
enthusiasm
for running
outside
has waned
no longer eager
to explore,
for four dogs
have moved
in next door
although confined
daily
to a small space
in their world
they wait
hours
to be free
to roam
in their
backyard
which is their home
and she our cat
seems to care
that her own
freedom
is not there
so she looks
forlorn to me
her world turned
upside down
is what she sees.
In Thought
Pondering
This is where a lot of our decision-making takes place. On our front porch, on this bench. From here we have watched the Chickadee family build their nest, feed their young and then move on. Watch butterflies play tag with the wind and the flowers in our garden patch, bloom before our eyes. This seat is very important and serious business takes place here. We ponder now and are contemplating change and my heart leaps at the thought and consideration..Hmmm! We will figure it out right here on our front porch.
