100 days of thanks

100 days of thanks~ Day 8

I discovered this book at one of the local discount stores. It’s one of those that kind of jumped out at me. Of course when I purchased it, I had Thanksgiving on my mind. You know, turkey and all of the trimmings. lol! Well not really.. I hadn’t started reading it, until this morning, when I realized, that if I wanted to coincide with the days until Thanksgiving, I had some catching up to do. The little reminders about gratitude are great and speak to me. I find that it is easy to get into a slump of mumble and grumble and not be able to recognize a blessing or gift of life when it’s right in our face. So today I am embarking on this challenge to be open minded and see what God has in store for me to learn.

Do you have a memory of a stranger, acquaintance, or someone else you didn’t know well having a positive impact on your life?

I met one person at a store, that my mother managed, when I was a teenager. Another I met while I was a volunteer teen at our local hospital. Two others I met on the job when I worked at a library, and one at church and one other at a Bible study.

I kept this note from Glenn H. He passed away years ago. Reading this reveals his heart. All of these short seasonal people in my life were gentle natured. I am grateful for these wise and kind people that God sent my way.
