Mosaic Monday: Let There Be Lighthouses

I  decided to get the lighthouses out of my system and finally post the rest of them. I do believe  the Cape Blanco lighthouse was the most interesting. I posted it on Mosiac Monday not too long ago. It is very windy in that location and we were told that the lighthouse keepers had to tether their children to keep them from blowing away. Can you imagine that? The history was interesting. They didn’t get supplies very often and sometimes they would get a surprise visit from an overseer. He had high expectations of them and they had to have the place kept in an orderly manner. When they did know he was coming for  an inspection you had to make sure the brass buttons on all jackets were polished. I am linking with Mary at Little Red House for Mosaic Monday.

This last photo was taken in Cresent City, California. It is called Battery Point. We regret that we didn’t take the time to walk to it but we were on a certain time frame and I am sure we’ll get to it at another time. Like Scarlett O’Hara said..”there’s always tomorrow.”
