that cold sharp tone
makes my bones shiver
i know now
that a heart is changed
when one recognizes
that self
does not have
all of the answers
in humility
traipsing
to
the
alter
to
lay
it
all
out
that
we be
washed
from the
filth
of sin..
God help us
We are all infected and impure with sin. When we display our righteous deeds, they are nothing but filthy rags. Like autumn leaves, we wither and fall, and our sins sweep us away like the wind..
Isaiah 64:6
The way your poem tapers visually actually makes the poem harder to understand. Maybe… write it in fuller sentences…? As for the “putridness of sin” who are you to judge?

Thank you for your suggestion.. When I ask God to search my heart.. He does so with conviction and correction..

If only we really understood the holiness of God…

First of all, your photo is stunning and I love it. But more importantly, the poem speaks volumes. Laying down our filthy rags isn’t easy, but knowing we don’t have to pick them up again and that we are washed as clean as pure white snow is the reward. Thank you, Jesus.
